Founder and Visionary of Madam Excellence Preparatory Academy

Born and raised in Louisiana, Brandya Overstreet’s journey is deeply rooted in her commitment to creating opportunities where there often seem to be none. Growing up in the same rural area where Madam Excellence Preparatory Academy (MEPA) is being developed, she understands firsthand the challenges and limited resources young girls face. This personal connection drives her passion to establish a school that inspires resilience, nurtures excellence, and fosters leadership in young women.

Brandya brings a wealth of experience in education and training to MEPA, currently serving as a Policy Training Coordinator for the University of New Orleans. Her role involves designing, coordinating, and implementing educational frameworks—skills that seamlessly translate into her leadership at MEPA. Over the years, she has honed her ability to build effective programs, ensuring quality education and impactful outcomes.

The vision for MEPA stems from Brandya’s unwavering belief that every girl deserves access to a supportive, enriching environment that not only prepares them academically but also instills values of faith, perseverance, and self-worth. She is determined to make MEPA a beacon of opportunity for families in Alexandria, Louisiana, and beyond.

While Brandya has led various entrepreneurial endeavors in the past, her focus remains on education and community impact. MEPA represents her lifelong dream to bridge the gap in educational equity while honoring the community that shaped her. Through rigorous academics, faith-based elements, and innovative programs, she aims to empower young girls to excel beyond expectations and become remarkable leaders.
